Adjacent to an ancient bridge over a chattering stream, this is an exceptionally attractive setting for a village church, even by Dorset's standards.  There has been a church here since, at least, the 15c because the tower, like so many others, belongs to that century.

Unfortunately by the middle of the 19c the building had been allowed to reach a ruinous condition.  The early English chancel and perpendicular nave had to be taken down and were rebuilt to a design by T. H. Wyatt, who managed to save the tower.  The work was undertaken during 1865-6 by A H Green of Blandford.

This is a charming little church.
