The Pulpit

Lectern

The magnificent pulpit of 1868 is by Thomas Earp and was a gift by H.G.Sturt MP, who later became the first Lord Allington of Crichel House.  The centre carving features the Sermon on the Mount and the Saints Matthew, Mark Luke and John are to be found on four side panels.  The earlier pulpit was given to Holt church.

The brass eagle type lectern was given by Anthony Wayte in 1623. Note it is mounted on a Victorian pedestal.
